Step-by-Step Instructions for Changing the Vehicles’s Cabin Air Filter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are many important components that ensure your vehicle stays in its best shape. One part you may not know much about is the vehicle’s cabin air filter. This filter removes harmful pollutants from the air that you breathe inside the car. In general, a vehicle’s cabin air filter should be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, or when you notice reduced airflow, unpleasant odours, or increasing dust on surfaces. A simple process for all experience levels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open and the glove box and remove the limiting arm. <\/strong>Open up your glove box and remove everything that you have inside of it. Look for the limiting stop arm on the right side of the glove box and slide it off the pin.<\/li>
  2. Release the glove box.<\/strong> Grab on to the front and back of the glove box, squeezing them together until the side clamps pop open. Once the sides are free, you can put down the entire glove box so you can see the faceplate of the cabin air filter channel.<\/li>
  3. Remove the <\/strong>old filter. Lift up the latches on the faceplate and move it out of the way to open the filter compartment. Now, remove the old filters being careful to not get dust, dirt, or trash into your car. Take note of which way the arrows are facing on the filter as you take it out. These will tell you the direction of airflow.<\/li>
  4. Clean the chamber and check the seals and gaskets for damage.<\/strong> Before you put in the new filter, clean out the chamber with a vacuum and a damp cloth. Make sure the seals and gaskets are intact before putting in the new filter. If they are broken, make sure you fix them before putting in the new filter.<\/li>
  5. Put the new filter in.<\/strong> Make sure that the new filter matches the old filter and that the arrows are pointing in the same direction. Simply slide the new filter into the compartment. Put the faceplate back on once the filter is in place.<\/li>
  6. Put glove box back in place.<\/strong> Put the glove box back into its spot, listening for the click of the side clamps. Put the limiting stop back on and put everything back into your glove box.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
